š Seattle Brings Top Passing Defense to Denver
First, Milwaukee is one win away from delivering justice to the Dodgers
Before we dive into TNF, there is an important development in MLB. The Dodgers are one loss away from watching their three-peat chase end, and the team doing it is the one they embarrassed a year ago.
Milwaukee took a 3-0 NLCS lead with a 6-2 win at Dodger Stadium, and the numbers explain how. The Brewersā pitching staff owns a 1.74 postseason ERA, the best in baseball, and the bullpen has been nearly untouchable at 0.31. A team that hit the second fewest homers in the majors this season has somehow out-homered Los Angeles 5-0 in this series. Jackson Chourio, just 22, already holds the record for most postseason home runs before turning 23 with six.
The Dodgersā offense, meanwhile, has disappeared. Theyāre hitting .094 with runners in scoring position this postseason, Will Smith is batting .074, and a banged up Shohei Ohtani has been dropped to sixth in the order.
Teams up 3-0 in a seven game series have advanced 41 out of 42 times, and 32 of those ended in sweeps. The lone exception was the 2004 Red Sox, a comeback sparked by a ninth inning stolen base from current Dodgers manager Dave Roberts. If anyone can sell his clubhouse on the impossible, itās him.
LAās hopes rest on Tyler Glasnow in Game 4. Glasnow carries a 1.73 postseason ERA, and the Dodgers are 7-0 in playoff games heās pitched. He needs to go deep, because a taxed Dodgers bullpen canāt afford to hand a late lead to Milwaukeeās relievers.
The stakes for Milwaukee are enormous. A win sends the 103-win Brewers to their first World Series since 1982 and delivers their first NL pennant. It would also make them the first team ever to be swept out of the playoffs and return the next October to sweep the same opponent.

š Same Records, Very Different Teams
Two 3-2 teams meet in Denver tonight, but only one of them is playing close to their potential. Seattle ranks ninth in total DVOA with a +29 point differential. Denver sits 16th at -14, surviving on a tough early schedule and a handful of close wins.
The Leagueās Best Passing Defense
Seattle allows the fewest yards per game (283.2) and per play (4.72) in football, ranks second in defensive DVOA, and leads the NFL in both QB hit rate and interception rate. Thatās a nightmare for a Denver offense dead last in yards per play.
Nix has been averaging just 5.81 yards per attempt (29th). In Week 4, he completed 24 of 29 throws under 10 air yards, but went 1 for 9 on anything deeper. Against a secondary that holds receivers to a league low 9.42 yards per catch, those short completions wonāt add up to much, especially for an offense converting only 34.38% on third down.
Darnold against a depleted secondary
The Seahawksā run game has been ordinary at 3.81 yards per carry, but Sam Darnold has been efficient, completing 67.35% of his passes at 8.10 yards per attempt. Denverās coverage numbers look solid on paper, but Patrick Surtain II is out, Talanoa Hufanga is sidelined, and Riley Moss is questionable.
The catch with Seattle
The Seahawks arenāt flawless. They convert just 29.82% of their own third downs (31st) and have given up 44 points off turnovers, tied for the most in the league. Last weekās 32-29 loss to San Francisco featured seven combined turnovers and snapped Seattleās nine game home winning streak. Denverās pass rush, second in QB hit rate, can make Darnold uncomfortable.
Still, the gap between these teams is wider than the records suggest. Unless Seattle hands Denver short fields, itās hard to see the Broncos moving the ball consistently enough to keep pace.

š Best Bets for TNF in Denver
Tonightās game should follow a clear script: Seattle feeds its best weapon, while Denver tries to shorten the game on the ground because Bo Nix canāt attack this secondary downfield. All three bets follow that path.
The reigning Offensive Player of the Year leads the NFL with 583 receiving yards and has topped 100 in four of his five games. His usage is unmatched, with league highs in both target share (35%) and air yards share (51%). This line sits about 24 yards below his season average of 116.6, but he faces a Denver secondary missing Patrick Surtain II and Talanoa Hufanga, with Riley Moss questionable. The Broncosā strong coverage numbers were built with Surtain on the field. Without him on a short week, JSN should have plenty of room.
Dobbins logged a season high 18 carries last week in Sean Paytonās first game calling plays, as Payton made a clear effort to establish the run. Heās cleared this number in 7 of his last 10 games, averaging 14 carries. Denverās best shot at hanging around is controlling the clock and keeping Nix out of long third downs against a pass rush that leads the league in QB hit rate. That points to another busy workload for Dobbins.
If Denver scores through the air, it probably wonāt come on a deep ball. Nix is averaging just 188.4 passing yards per game, and Seattle allows the fewest passing yards in football. That pushes the Broncos toward short throws in the red zone, which is where Engram lives. Heās coming off his most productive game of the season, catching all four targets for 55 yards, and heās already a red zone option for Nix. Heās scored just once this season, so keep the stake small, but at +575 the price is worth a shot.
